Background
Fatima Taylor (formerly Azimova) was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. She discovered her love for art early on and pursued it through an after-school program for gifted artists. She went on to study at the Benkov Art Academy, majoring in Fine Art and Fashion Design, and laid the foundation for her artistic journey.
In 2001, Fatima immigrated to the United States with her family, where she balanced pursuing her ambition with adapting to a new culture. Despite the challenges, her passion for art persisted. Joining Shawnee State University in 2009 as an instructor, she taught various art courses while actively participating in the local art scene through exhibitions and lectures.
Relocating to Columbus, Ohio, in 2017, Fatima continued her artistic endeavors from her private studio, working on personal projects and commissions. Notably, she created the commission project, an outdoor mural, "Higher Goals," in Hilliard, Ohio, showcasing her talent and commitment to community art.
In 2022, Fatima decided to pursue further education, enrolling in the Ohio University Fine Art Graduate Program. Her dedication was recognized with the Graduate Recruitment Scholarship and Graduate Assistantship, marking a new chapter in her artistic journey.
Currently, Fatima resides and works in Columbus, Ohio, USA.
